World Motorsport chiefs seek new Formula One team for 2015

Chiefs of World Motorsport on Thursday kicked off a search for a new team to join the Formula One world championship

World motorsport heads on Thursday commenced a quest for another group to join the Formula One big showdown, a move which might help the amount of groups to twelve in 2015. 

The last time the Fia started such a request was in 2010 when 15 hopefuls connected from which three were chosen - Campos, which was later rebranded as Hrt before they exited in 2012, Caterham and Marussia (once Virgin). 

"The FIA has chosen to open another determination procedure to distinguish a hopeful group to take part at an intense level in the Fia Formula One World Championship from the begin of the 2015 or the 2016 season up to 2020 comprehensive," said a Fia proclamation. 

"The generally long haul diversions of the Championship will confirm which hopefuls are chosen. 

"The exact terms of this determination prepare, together with the material choice criteria, due dates, lawful necessities and different conditions, will be conveyed to competitors who have enlisted a formal statement of investment with the Fia's Secretariat after 5pm Cet Friday 3 January 2014."
