French President Francois Hollande held talks Thursday with his Brazilian partner Dilma Rousseff in Brasilia throughout which he supported imparting mechanical ability and saluted expanding reciprocal exchange.

With Brazil trying to resign its Mirage 2000 planes at the close of the year, France has been pushing the benefits of the Rafale, at first accepting it had an arrangement under Hollande's forerunner Nicolas Sarkozy.

Rousseff's forerunner, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, had said in 2009 that Brazil might stout for the Rafale yet he exited office after an arrangement could be assembled and Rousseff then chose to reassess the alternatives.

Signs in Brazil are that Rousseff is not prepared to endorse such an expensive buy going into a year in which she looks for re-race and when her administration is under fire from voters for the evaluated $11 billion cost of organizing the World Cup.
